Summer is here

We have visited Emma Johansson who, together with her freelance colleague Emelie Sundberg, interpreted our garden products in her brand new greenhouse. We asked Emma to share some of her best garden tips and she invited us on a tour inside the cozy little greenhouse.

So, how does it feel to have your own greenhouse?

“It feels wonderful! Evenings in the greenhouse are fantastic, that's the time of day when I spend the most time here. During the day it can almost be too hot, but the evenings are just as magical as I had imagined. I water my plants, play music and plant more flowers and greens. Preferably with a refreshing drink in a glass”.

Emma have had a dream of a greenhouse for a long time and last year it was almost becoming a reality. When the delivery company dropped (!) the entire greenhouse just outside Emma's driveway, it almost felt like fate. It was not the intention right now and then, and she's happy about that now she says with a smile on her face. The perfect greenhouse was lurking around the corner.

What's the best thing about having a greenhouse?

"Apart from the fact that it is like a piece of jewelery in the garden, it's also the function to be able to sow more and earlier. Earlier  years I have had small plants exactly everywhere in the house which is not appreciated by everyone in the family… Then I notice that all of my potted plants that usually stand inside thrive in the greenhouse, so almost everything has moved out. "

What is the most important thing to keep in mind when decorating a greenhouse?

"With the question of how you want to use it. For me it is 95% gardening and 5% to sit with a glass of rosé or cup of coffee and enjoy everything green. I'm not done with the interior yet, there will be many shelves in different levels and a planting table."

What do you think are the most important garden tools?

"Not without my shovel! Small and large and preferably several! I also use small baskets and buckets for weeds and withered flowers as well as sharp secateurs to harvest flowers. Watering cans are also such a thing that is good to have many of so you do not have to run back and forth as much for watering all the plants. And, small and large vases for the flowers so they quickly get water. And jute garden twine is also great to have if the plants need support."

Your greenhouse looks so cozy, how do you get that feeling?

"Lanterns and candles in all their shapes of course. Pots in different sizes and heights give lushness. A place to sit makes it look inviting, and textiles like blankets or table cloths make it snug and cozy. And, of course, all plants that will climb and dress the greenhouse."
