This cushion cover is handmade by skilled artisans in southern India, through a fair trade organization certified according to WFTO’s 10 principles. The initiative supports women in vulnerable situations—such as widows, the disabled, and those in poverty—by providing education, income, and training in traditional crafts. Since 1986, the organization has also actively worked to prevent child marriage and violence against women, and it runs a women-led bank that supports local economic empowerment.
